FAQs
How is Grief Coaching different from Grief Counseling?
While grief counseling can help you process what you feel, grief coaching goes a step further. Grief coaching will also challenge you to focus forward, so there is continual movement toward healing. As you walk through the pain of grief you take two steps forward in a coaching session versus one in a counseling session.
How often will we meet for our sessions?
The number of sessions will depend on the goals you have set. Usually I meet with clients on a weekly basis. Sometimes we meet for 6 to 8 weeks and that is enough, with monthly check-ins. For other clients, the sessions may last for up to 6 months.
What type of support do your offer between sessions?
Typically, I allow one or two emails per week and if I need to check in by phone, I will. On occasion, I may text you to offer motivation or support, depending on what you are working on.
How can Mental fitness help me with grief?
The program strengthens the wise part of you that knows how to care for yourself and identifies those parts of you that try to get in your way of feeling and processing the pain and looking forward to having a loving, peaceful, quality life.
What about the information I share with you? Is it confidential?
Yes. I abide by the ICF Code of Ethics and will keep all your information confidential. The only exception is if you threaten harm to yourself or others, in which case I may contact the authorities.
What about discounts for nonprofit organizations?
I will usually offer a discount on coaching and/or the Positive Intelligence program for a nonprofit organization. Please contact me to discuss this.
